3rd place overall and 4 stage wins at the Trans Rockies!

Schweizaren Oliver Zurbruegg(Wheeler) vann före Kanadensaren Cory Wallace(Kona).
Härnäst väntar Finnmarksturen i Långloppscupen den 11 aug.
3rd place overall and 4 stage wins at the Trans Rockies!
I had a pretty good but not perfect Trans Rockies last week. The first stage I flatted when leading with over 3 minutes. I fixed it but lost the lead and came in 2nd after Oliver Zurbruegg. On the 2nd stage I had a bit tired legs but managed to get 2nd after Oliver again, only 1 sec behind him.
And on stage 3 I felt better and had attacked on the last climb, but took the wrong way in a badly marked sharp corner, and lost 17 mins! So I dropped down to 8th place in the GC.
Then stage 4,5,6 and 7 I won in a pretty convincing fashion actually:) On the last 2 stages bear spray was mandatory to bring with you, since its a lot of bears in Kananaskis county. I did´nt see any bears, only some moose and deer:)
And that effort made me jump up to 3rd place in the GC at the end. So I´m happy with 4 stage wins but it could of been even better. However, it was a very cool race with some amazing single tracks around Fernie(BC) and Canmore(AB).
My buddie “Edvard the roadie” did a really good job on his second mtb race ever and got top 15 on nearly every stage! Well done!
And thanks to Nikki who came out and supported, took pics & cheered through out the whole week!
And of course a big thanks to Colin Osborn and Clay Gillies at Honeystinger for making this happen!
