DNF!

DNF at the Marathon World Champs! Didn’t have the best legs and was lying around 38-40th. Then a flat( too big of a sidewall cut for the sealant to fix) Since I used the whole cartridge I rode on the rim for a while before diciding not to continue an according to me and my plans, bad ride. Had some irritating back pain that didn’t help either. On a good day I think another top 15 or better is possible for sure.

So that sucks but that’s how it is sometimes. Otherwise we had a great weekend in Kirchberg with the national team.

Christoph Sauser won ahead of Alban Lakata and Leonardo Paez.

And I gotta share this good video from Benno & the Specialized guys. It shows how it all went down and how it is to do the service. Lots of work.

MTB Marathon World Championships, Kirchberg, Austria!

I´m now in Kirchberg with the national team for the marathon world champs. We flew down on wednesday and

I´ve tested big parts of the course now and its a brutal one with 4400 meters of climbing over 95 km. During the Bike 4 Peaks I raced the last downhill(Fleckalm trail) on stage 2 and also after the race we went back and did some recce  of the course. Tomorrow I´ll do last climb and downhill again, so it should be enough. It´s a very very selective course, probably the hardest marathon world champs course so far, so its gonna every man for himself against the mountain:-)  Went for a spin with the crazy Mr Platt today. Look out for him, he looks fit:-)

Racing for the national team is me in elite men, Jennie Stenerhag & Emmy Thelberg in women elite. Staff: National Coach Anders Ljungberg & Josefine Ahlström.

Roc des Alpes

Now in La Clusaz, France, for the Roc des Alpes. Seems like a cool event here with all kinds of races like marathon, cross country, enduro, downhill and more. I´ll do the marathon over 82 ams and with 3200 meters of ascent tomorrow morning. Start is at 8.00! Gonna be a hard day:-p
My buddie Colin has some sort of tendinitis and has decided not to start tomorrow. So that sucks! But he´ll do the feeding for me instead, so at least that is good.
This will be the final race before the marathon world champs in Kirchberg(AUT) in 2 weeks time, so I´m hoping for a good feeling!

Långa Lugnet – Mitsubishi MTB Challenge

Unfortunately I didn’t finish the 2nd round of the Mitsubishi MTB Challenge, Långa Lugnet. 2 flats ended my day after half of the race. Would of been fun to challenge Matthias Wengelin for the victory:) Congrats! Otherwise a good weekend in Falun at the Scandinavian Outdoor Games. My buddie from the US, who´s visiting, Colin Osborn had a good run and got 23rd. Now we’re headed down for Bike 4 Peaks in the German alps. A 4 day stage race from Wednesday to Saturday! Will be wicked hard but fun! It starts in Ruhpolding and finishes in Neukirchen am Grossvenediger. Lots of climbing. Lets Rock n’ Roll!
Here´s a few pics from Falun and on the wy down here to Ruhpolding, GER. The older guy with the nice t-shirt has got nothing to do with anything:-)
